Illinois jury awards $2.6 million for mesothelioma death

Bloomington, Illinois A jury awarded $2.6 million yesterday to the family of a 93-year-old woman who died of mesothelioma. Jean Holmes was exposed to asbestos when she laundered clothing belonging to her husband, who worked at Bloomington’s Union Asbestos and Rubber Company, in 1962 and 1963.
